    Volume IV, Mutt-nificent March 2006

    Dear Pet Lover~

I am pleased to announce that we have officially reached another major milestone in our Shure Pets business: last week the 1,000th person signed up to become a Pet Consultant.

I am also excited to share with you the recent growth that we have been experiencing. Last year (almost to the date) we signed up our 400th Pet Consultant. Dating further back, in May of 2004 we signed up our 100th Pet Consultant. On Monday, March 6th, 2006, we signed up ten new Pet Consultants ? a record number of new Pet Consultants to join our team for one day.

We attribute this growth to our innovative business model and overall trend in the growth of the pet industry. We are committed to offering the best products and programs (including our new backend software system) for you to excel in your business. Our only requirement is a passion for pets!

We look forward to working with each of you as we work to reach our next milestones.

Please feel free to contact me if you have any questions or comments regarding Shure Pets, our innovative business model or our unique product line.

    Shure Pets In The News

Tracey Pet Consultant of the Month: Tracey F. (#303)

Tracey F. (#303 Waterloo, IN) and her husband are proud parents of a nine year old, 194 lb. Rottie (Zeus) that has been with them since he was seven weeks old, as well as a sassy two year old Australian Shepherd (Rocky Road) that was rescued at 10 months. Tracey states, "I first heard about Shure Pets in the USA Weekend back in May of 2004. I couldn?t believe that no one had thought of this before and what a fantastic idea it was. I cut the article out and kept it at work. I would go to the Shure Pets website and check it out, and finally, during the summer, I asked for information on becoming a Pet Consultant. I was contacted by my upline, Sharen (#48 Fortville, IN), and she sounded so upbeat and was loving Shure Pets. Still, with my husband on lay-off I decided to wait. I finally took the plunge in October of that same year."

"I believe that the Shure Pets business opportunity is what the Consultant makes out of it. It can be as much, or as little, as you want it to be. The more you put your paws into the opportunity, the more rewards you reap. I tried several times to get the local Humane Shelter to let me work with them to raise money for them. After almost a year, one of the board members contacted me and together we held a very successful fundraiser in her home- Almost $1,000 in retail sales in four hours! We were both very grateful for the turnout and the shelter was happy. Now I can use that as an example of what I can do for other animal organizations. It really got me pumped up and wanting to contact all the other groups in the area."

"I have always wanted to become more involved with animals, specifically, becoming a groomer. I have been in the automotive manufacturing industry for 22 years, with the last several being a Manufacturing Engineer. We just got the news that the company will be closing as of Sept. this year and I am looking forward to plans of going to grooming school and, in the end, opening my own shop. This is one of the reasons I started in the Shure Pets business as I thought it was a great fit. And besides that, I wanted to be the first in the area to 'Party with the Animals.'"

"I look forward, as one of the Shure Pets 'Pioneers', to having a long career with Shure Pets and I only see it growing by leaps and bounds. I am looking forward to be able to grow my business and spend more of my time doing what I love to do, be with animals, come September 1st. I am not looking back on the past 22 years, but forward to the next 22 and starting a new chapter in my life with Shure Pets being more of a focus than a hobby."

"My Jack Russell, Kodak, just turned 12 on Wednesday...One thing I have been avoiding, is trying the Shure Pets Hurleys (#504) out on him. He has destroyed everything we have given him in a matter of minutes since I can remember. But because it was his birthday and I was leaving him, I decided to try it! Well! We still have a Hurley!!!!! Four days later!! In my presentations I always say that they are "virtually" indestructible. But I have been such a "chicken" to try it out on my guy. (Because I didn't want to know the "real" truth.) Now I can say it without hesitation that they ARE indestructible! I LOVE SHURE PETS PRODUCTS! I just wanted to shout my enthusiasm! Bonnie D. (#508 Gladstone, OR).

"Thank you so much. I love the fact that all staff at Shure Pets have good communication with the Pet Consultants...that helps me a lot." Lisa K. (#357 Durbin, WV).

    Purr-fect Pet Health: Q & A

What is a ?Hot Spot?? A ?hot spot? on a pet is classified as an inflammation that is caused by the animal's constant licking or scratching at an area until the area becomes bald and damaged. It can be caused by several factors, but primarily it is flea-related. If left untreated, it can develop into a bacterial infection.

Why does my pet urinate and eliminate in the exact same spot as he previously did? Most pets have a sense of smell that is more sensitive than humans. Because they can smell the ammonia from the last time there was an "accident?, they often return to the same spot. Even though the area may have been cleaned well, it is still necessary to treat the spot with an odor neutralizer like Paramount Stain and Odor Control (#110). These products break down the chemical nature of the ammonia, which, in turn, eliminates the smell of ammonia that triggers a pet to "mark" the spot again.

What causes tear stains on an animal? Tear stains are caused by the hair around the eyes wicking moisture. It can be traced to health and diet, but most veterinarians agree that it is caused by excessive tearing. The moisture that is being absorbed is a breeding ground for bacterial and yeast growth. The most common is ?red yeast? which is associated with the reddish-brown facial stains.

Why does my pet need vitamins? Isn?t all he needs in his food? Most premium dog foods do provide adequate basic nutrition, but many do not give the dog everything it needs for optimum health, especially if your pet is active, stressed, or is a working pet. The addition of a vitamin will result in sharper features and is ?shure to make your pet smile.?

Why do my pets get upset during a storm? Pets can become upset in a storm for many reasons. They have a heightened since of hearing, and the intense noise from thunder hurts their ears. Also, there are barometric changes in the atmosphere that animals are more sensitive to.
