Monthly Newsletter-April 2007 |
|
Pet Lover,
This month we celebrate three and a half years since we officially launched our business. It has been an exciting, action-filled time for us. Last weekend, we ran a successful promotion for all new Pet Consultant signups to help us celebrate the milestone of 1,500 Pet Consultants on our team. This is truly a great accomplishment that we should all be very proud of. Congratulations to Bonnie D. (#508 Gladstone, OR) and her team "For Pets Sake" for signing up the 1500th Pet Consultant, Kimberly S. (1829 Clackamas, OR).
Additionally, last month we processed a record number of new Pet Consultant applications (for 2007) and this month appears to be on track to exceed the prior period's activity. I would like to take this opportunity to welcome everyone to the Shure Pets family.
Next weekend, April 13 - 15, we are running a our third annual "Pet Parties Across America " Promotion. Pet Consultants are hosting Pet Parties next weekend to showcase our unique Shure Pets product line and business opportunity to all pets and pet lovers! The objectives are to increase pet knowledge, pass along pet-care tips to Pet Lovers and offer superior, beneficial pet products and business opportunities in an intimate home setting. This promotion has helped us to have more Pet Parties/Events booked during the next month than during any other time in our company's history. If you would like to attend a party or host a party, please contact Kristina at kristina.meyer@shurepets.com and we will put you in touch with you local Pet Consultant.
Finally, I would like to congratulate the top team builders for the months of February and March at Shure Pets. Leadership and mentoring are important parts of our business. Keep up the great work!
Carla F. (#1502 Cordova, TN) signed up 6 people from Feb. 15 - March 31 Maryann N. (#774 Rye Brook NY) signed up 6 people from Feb. 15 - March 31 Sandy T. (#148 Seabrook, NH) signed up 4 people from Feb. 15 - March 31

Pet Consultant of the Month Profile of Success
Louise K. (#1263 Fort Collins, CO) lives with her four Labrador retrievers: Tango (13), Elsie (10), Willow (5) and Moon (16 months). Elsie is the mother to Willow who is mother to Moon. Louise states, "I breed Labradors. I train and compete with them in obedience, conformation and field. Willow was 10th in the AKC All Breed rankings in 2004. She's also a certified Delta Society Therapy Dog. We visit a shelter for battered women and their children monthly as well as work with the local Mental Health facility doing group therapy sessions with children. Moon is learning good social manners and will be tested for certification in late April. His temperament indicates that he'll be a great therapy dog as well.
I originally read about Shure Pets in the local newspaper. With on-going downsizing at my place of employment I was always looking for other alternatives. Shure Pets seemed like something I could get started on while I was still employed and then have something established when it was time to move on. And since I spend all my free time with my dogs it seemed like a great match. I've been a Pet Consultant since June of 2006 and I've met a lot of great people and made new friends.
I think the [Shure Pets] products are great, which is the big seller for me. I use them and then can brag about their benefits. They sell themselves. The party atmosphere is great too. I can think of no better people to spend time with than animal lovers. Just last month I quit my full time job and purchased an existing dog daycare facility in Fort Collins, CO. I plan to expand the retail section of that store to include Shure Pets products. The facility is a great place to host Pet Parties too.
[To achieve success], I've learned to focus on the customer and learn what their true needs are, instead of just trying to sell them the items I have. I take time to learn about their pets and any problems they might be having so I can sell them what they truly need. I am also very active with my dogs (training, therapy dog work and breeding) so I have lots of opportunities to talk with people about their pets and their needs. I became a member of the Fort Collins Dog Network, which is a group of small businesses that provide dog care services: canine massage, grooming, poop scooping, boarding, photography, etc. We do monthly events to educate the public and make our services known. The Network members all advertise each other's businesses so it's an easy way to expand your client base. We do a monthly "Yappy Hour" at the local dog park. We set up booths with information and product displays. It's a great way to get your name out there."

"Barks of Approval" Testimonials
"Hi, my name is Lori and I am a new Shure Pets Pet Consultant. I decided to have my first Pet Party at my house to introduce my friends, family and neighbors to the Shure Pets products...I phoned everyone and they couldn't wait to come! We all had a howling good time. We had a variety of dogs also attend and they all wore purple bandanas. The dogs volunteered to be demonstrators for the products. They sampled the Beef Jerky Dog Logs (#216) and played with the Fling Things (#506) and Hurley (#503/504).
I love the natural, botanical ingredients in the shampoos, conditioners and grooming products and my enthusiasm was shared by my customers. We played games and had prizes. Everyone enjoyed sampling and trying the products and the Therapy Spritzers were a great hit and also made my house smell good! I'm looking forward to the next party and seeing and trying all the products!" -Lori K. (#1732 Greenville, PA).
"I breed cats and have used [Shure Pets shampoos and sprays]...They do a beautiful job on the cats and I have been very pleased with the results" -Sue S. (#1398 Cumming, GA).
"I appreciate all of the help and support that Shure Pets offers its Pet Consultants - everyone is wonderful to work with." -Janet H. (#139 Macomb, IL).

| Purr-fect Pet Health Tip
Curiosity and the Cat
Your feline friend, whether a purebred or a mixed breed, shares many traits with its wilder cousins (such as the Lynx or the Leopard). You only have to study a cat pouncing on a moving leaf to recognize the similarity between him and a Tiger leaping on his prey in the wild. Keeping this similarity in mind, you can see why your cat does certain things - due to their instincts.
Cats are extremely curious by nature. They will climb into anything they can explore -which can lead to certain dangers, especially if the something is an open trash can, a toilet with the lid up, or an empty paper bag which might be accidentally stepped on. Make 'shure' you check to see that your cat is not locked in a closet or empty room before you leave your house. Additionally, make certain that if your kitty goes outdoors to blow your horn and bang on the hood of your car before starting it. Cats have been known to crawl up under the hood to keep warm. | |
