Three years ago this month USA Weekend ran an article on Shure Pets titled "Pet products go door to door" stating in the sub-title that "In-home Sales Parties may be the Ulti-mutt New Trend". At the time the article ran it stated that we had 100 Pet Consultants in 30 states. In the last 3 years we have grown our Pet Consultant count by over 15 times to 1,540 people in all 50 states.
We continue to be recognized for creating the category and being the nation's leading provider of pet products through home parties and one-on-one selling. The media continues to recognize us for innovations and leadership in the market. Please refer to the In The News section of our website to view some of these articles.
We see tremendous opportunities in the months and years to come. The pet category is growing at a robust rate, having doubled over the last ten years to $38.5 billion (2006). It is projected to increase to over $50 billion by 2010 (source: APPMA), a 30% increase! In addition, the growth in direct selling over the last ten years is extremely impressive, growing at 40% (source: DSA).
The marriage of these two dynamic sectors creates opportunities for those interested in participating.

Pet Consultant of the Month Profile of Success
Carla F. (#1502 Cordova, TN) is the proud mother of three Labradors. Carla states, "Uno is a black lab and the granddaughter of a Lab that is deceased. She was the first born in her litter and is how she got her name. We used to take agility lessons, but now we just practice in our yard. Dos and Tres are Chocolate Labs that I got at my local shelter when they were nine months old. They were owner surrendered and next in line to be put to sleep. I couldn't take one and leave the other so I thought I would try a find a home for one of them. Here I am three and a half years later with three Labs. They are all very sweet and there is never a dull moment at my house."

Spring Time Happiness
Looking Through the Window It is relaxing to feel the fresh Spring air and gentle breeze that enters your house through open windows. However, make 'shure' your windows are screened and tightly secured. Unfortunately, thousands of pets are seriously injured each year from falls resulting from open windows in homes and apartment buildings.
Jog the DogRunning with your canine can be grrr-eat exercise for both of you. Keep in mind your dog's age and overall health condition when choosing your running route. Be careful not to overwork/stress your pet to the point when it is injured. Additionally, keep away from hot tar or paved surfaces that can cause burns to your pet's foot pad. Interested new Consultants, Party Guests and Party Hosts attended the successful event including Rebecca P. (#1800 Yorkville, IL) and Susan P. (#1883 Libertyville, IL).
