    This week marks the three year anniversary since we officially launched Shure Pets. It has been an incredible journey for all of us. We created the category of direct selling of pet products through at- home Pet Parties. Today, we are the nation's leading provider in this category. Our innovative business model has been recognized by the media throughout the U.S. and worldwide. We have Pet Consultants in all 50 states and our base of Pet Consultants grows daily. We have leaders that joined us in the beginning that have grown their teams over time with our number one team having members in 33 states. I truly appreciate each of our leaders' hard work and dedication to our business.

    I am pleased to report that our business continues to reach major milestones. Over 1,300 people have signed up to become Pet Consultants since our inception.

    Our objectives are to continue to innovate and be proactive in this category. We are committed to offering you and your customers the best products, customer service and provide the latest in technology to each of you.

    At last year's Jam-fur-ee, we announced that we would be introducing personal replicated websites and backend software for our Pet Consultants. We believe that this tool introduced to our Pet Consultants this summer will help each grow their business allowing each to process orders 24/7 and monitor team sales. Additionally, at this years Jam-fur-ee, we announced a number of new initiatives including:

    1.) Pet Insurance. Only 1% of pet owners in the US have pet insurance. We see this as huge opportunity for each of you to educate and inform your customers of the merits and importance of having pet insurance. We entered into a partnership with Pets Bests. Dr. Jack Stephens, DVM, the founder of Pets Best, spoke at our annual meeting. Jack created the pet insurance industry 20 years ago and ran the largest company in the category. We are very excited to work with Jack and his company.

    2.) Think Pink for Breast Cancer Month (October) - we identified our best selling item (Orange Mango Foaming Cleanser) and will repackage it in a redesigned pink label . A percentage of the proceeds will go to breast cancer research. This item (111Pink) will be available September 15 ? October 31, 2006.

    3.) Ulti-mutt Product Invention Contest: Shure Pets is looking for new, unique products to put in future Cat- alogs. If you, or someone you know, has created a innovative pet product and would like Shure Pets to marketed it, please visit http://www.shurepets.com/invention.html and complete the entry form.     4.) Human Health Insurance: Human Health Insurance for Pet Consultants is now available. The goal is to offer Health Insurance to help make Shure Pets a full time option/career for more Pet Consultants.

    I see a tremendous opportunity at Shure Pets. As the days get shorter the opportunities should become greater. Enjoy your time and have a Pet Party.     Shure Pets University (SPU): Our Shure Pets University training program meets monthly at the Corporate Office in Chicago, Illinois. This seminar serves as a platform to discuss Shure Pets and trends in the Direct Selling and Pet Industries, as well as offering tips to help you grow, develop and maintain your business. All Pet Consultants are invited and encouraged to attend SPU. If you cannot make a Shure Pets University session but are in the Chicago area and would like to meet "The Pound", please call or email info@shurepets.com to schedule an appointment.

    SPUs are held on the first Tuesday of the month. Please "mark" your calendars for the next Shure Pets University Training Programs held on:

    Kathryn Pet Consultant of the Month: Kathryn H. (#645)

    Kathryn H. (#645 Oshkosh, WI) and her husband, Mike, are the proud parents of a ?little? (99 lb.) girl Rockie. She is a three and a half year-old purebred Black Labrador they got from a breeder when she was nine weeks old. Kathryn states, "A more appropriate name could be Shadow as she follows me around everywhere I go!"

    "I heard about Shure Pets one morning during the National News portion of our Local News where they were showing a Pet Party. I saw this shortly after we found out that Rockie needed to have ACL surgery, which was going to cost thousands of dollars. I had had many friends ask me to join their teams with other Direct Sales Companies but I did not want to get into a situation where I could be competing against them. I heard about Shure Pets and thought it would be a great opportunity to get out of the house, be around other pet lovers and maybe even make some money to offset the cost of her surgery. I signed up as a Consultant in July 2005."

    "Within a couple of months of signing up, my team, Pets are People Too, grew dramatically after the Woman?s Day article and another that was picked up locally from the Associated Press. I?ve enjoyed working with my team members and helping them get their businesses started. While I don?t have as much time to devote as I would like, I?d like to keep building my team so more pets get to experience our wonderful products!"

    "I started out by hosting an open house and inviting family and friends to come check out my new adventure! I was then able to use the hostess credits to build my inventory for more parties. I have been most successful following leads from the Shure Pets team. I try to approach the leads in a totally pressure-free manor but let them know how excited I am to meet them and their pets. I also tell them of the great products we have and that I really want to show them what I have in my inventory. I have worked some Expos of various sizes. I make sure to keep any info I get on potential customers and every couple months email or mail them something; product info, invite to an open house, etc. to keep them seeing the Shure Pets name. I?ve heard it said that some people need 5-10 exposures to something before they are ready to buy."

    "I was fortunate this summer to be able to attend the 2006 Jam-fur-ree. It was great to see The Pound staff again and meet other consultants I have emailed with on the chat board. I enjoyed getting new ideas on how to market the business and get new customers. It truly was energizing to be in such an excited environment. Now I just wish I could make time to get out there and act on all the great ideas we got! I look forward to being a part of Shure Pets as it matures and becomes bigger and better!"

The Shure Pets Bone-us sales points program works as follows: For every dollar of Shure Pets products sold, you receive the equivalent of one Bone-us dollar.     Purr-fect Pet Questions and Answers

    Why are raisins and grapes toxic for dogs? Grapes and raisins can cause acute renal (kidney) failure in dogs and cats. It is not known what exact substance in the grapes or raisins causes renal failure; currently researchers speculate that it is a toxin produced by mold present in some batches. Dogs seem to be particularly sensitive, but the toxic dose has not been determined yet. Therefore, veterinary toxicologists recommend that you do not feed your pet any grapes or raisins. Treatment for grape or raisin ingestion includes decontamination and intravenous fluids for 48 hours or greater.

    Why does my kitty love the kitchen faucet? If you have noticed that your feline gets excited over a running faucet, this is not uncommon. There is an attraction towards the running water, the smell, and seeing it (multiple senses are stimulated). Vets advise owners to change water frequently. When water is sitting out for long periods of time, more bacteria gathers in the dish, and this which is not healthy for the animal to consume.

    What is the average lifespan for a bird? Birds of all kinds can live for many years. Some can even be expected to outlive humans. Research has shown that because birds typically eat bird seed for most of their lives, along with other common fruits and vegetables, they are generally healthier. The life span of any animal is dependent on their lifestyle, food and amount of exercise they receive, just like humans.

    Convention Summary

    Pet Consultant Jam-fur-ee Conference: Shure Pets held its second annual Pet Consultant Conference (Jam-fur-ee) the weekend of August 18- 20 in Chicago. Pet Consultants attended from all over the U.S., from New Hampshire and North Carolina to Oregon and California. The conference was an action packed weekend with activities, entertainment, speakers, meals and awards. Additionally, some new initiatives were officially introduced:

    New Requirements to stay Active (Starting October 1, 2006) Beginning on October 1, it will change to $200 in sales every three months to remain active. Being inactive will result in no downline commission but you will still be able to place orders for yourself. This $200 in sales every three months is a rolling time frame (i.e. have you placed $200 worth of orders in the last three months from today?) The goal of this change is to lead to more Pet Parties and more rewards for active Pet Consultants. We want Pet Consultants to focus on both Pet Parties and recruiting and we feel that Pet Consultant leaders will be more effective if they conduct more Pet Parties themselves. This $200 minimum every three months is an easy, reasonable goal (remember, the average Pet Party size is $394.87)

    Think Pink Campaign Beginning on September 15, our Orange Mango Foaming Cleanser is going to have a new pink label for the remainder of September and all of October (item #111Pink). 50 cents from every bottle sold will go towards Breast Cancer Research. The regular Orange Mango Foaming Cleanser (#111) will remain available during this period as well.

It should be available in all 50 states by the end of 2006. Shure Pets and Pets Best are joining together to offer a 20% discount for Pet Consultants and a 10% discount for all Pet Consultant customers.
