Our Pet Party and Fundraiser activity has increased significantly in recent weeks. I encourage each of you to schedule your events for the balance of the year. Our parties offer a great way to get together with friends and talk about your pets in a fun environment of an at-home party. We have wonderful gift items for you and your loved ones (both two and four legged friends). Please review the product line and develop a ?wish list? prior to your next event.
We recently introduced pet insurance in partnership with Pets Best. Only about 1% of pet owners in the US have pet insurance. That means that close to 99% of the pet owners are self insured. I hear unfortunate stories almost every day. I encourage you to consider pet insurance for your pets. Please contact your Pet Consultant for additional information on this important subject matter.
Finally, October is Breast Cancer Awareness Month. We have identified our best selling item (Orange Mango Foaming Cleanser) and repackages it in a redesigned pink label. A percentage of the proceeds from this item will go to breast cancer research. This item (111Pink) will be available through October 31, 2006.

The Shure Pets 2007 Cat-alog is now available online (shurepets.com) and the physical Cat-alog is at the printer and will be available shortly. To pre-order the Shure Pets 2007 Cat-alog, please e-mail orders@shurepets.com and let us know how many Cat-alogs you would like and your payment information (The price of the Cat-alogs are on a sliding scale and the same price as before-#16.a (10 for $10.00), #16.b (25 for $21.25), #16.c (100 for $65.00) or #16.d (200 for $100.00) The 2007 Cat-alog features new items in all seven Categories including Gallon sized items, more toys/treats, more purr- sonalized items (watches, paperweights, throws) and grr-eat pet lover apparel for the winter months ahead. Shure Pets University (SPU): Our Shure Pets University training program meets monthly at the Corporate Office in Chicago, Illinois. This seminar serves as a platform to discuss Shure Pets and trends in the Direct Selling and Pet Industries, as well as offering tips to help you grow, develop and maintain your business. All Pet Consultants are invited and encouraged to attend SPU. If you cannot make a Shure Pets University session but are in the Chicago area and would like to meet "The Pound", please call or email info@shurepets.com to schedule an appointment.
SPUs are held on the first Tuesday of the month. Please "mark" your calendars for the next Shure Pets University Training Programs held on:

Conference Calls: All Tuesdays (outside of the first Tuesday of the Month which is reserved for SPU) conference calls occur for Pet Consultants to participate in and share ideas with each other and the Shure Pets Pound.
- The 2nd Tuesday of the Month's Conference Call is for all new Pet Consultants
- The 3rd Tuesday is open for all Pet Consultants and
- The 4th Tuesday is now scheduled for our Leadership Committee.

New Requirements to stay Active (As of October 1, 2006). The new requirements have been amended to $200.00 in sales every three months to remain active. Being inactive will result in no downline commission but you will still be able to place orders for yourself. This $200.00 in sales every three months is a rolling time frame (i.e. have you placed $200.00+ worth of orders in the last three months from today?) The goal of this change is to lead to more Pet Parties and more rewards for active Pet Consultants. We want Pet Consultants to focus on both Pet Parties and recruiting and we feel that Pet Consultant leaders will be more effective if they conduct more Pet Parties themselves. This $200.00 minimum every three months is an easy, reasonable goal (remember, the average Pet Party size is $394.87)
Ulti-mutt Product Invention Contest Shure Pets is looking for unique products to put in future Cat-alogs. If you, or someone you know, has created a pet product and would like to have it sold under the Shure Pets name, tell them to visit http://www.shurepets.com/invention.html and complete the entry form contest details. Entries must be received by February 28, 2007.
Grrr-eat Start Program: Through our Grrr-eat Start Program for our New Pet Consultant Puppies: In the first ten days of your business, if you sell $500 of Shure Pets products and book two upcoming Pet Parties (within the upcoming 30 days), you will earn a $75.00 credit towards any Shure Pets products and/or business supplies. Additionally, if you sell $1,200 of Shure Pets products and directly recruit one person, or more, in the first thirty days of your business, you will earn a Shure Pets T-shirt (small ? x-large) and cap. The ten or thirty days start on the day that you receive your ?New Puppy on the Block? Starter Kit.
"New Puppy on the Block Kit" Changes: The New Puppy on the Block Kit is being amended in the upcoming weeks to include more Cat-alogs, order forms and post cards to help our New Puppies with their initial Pet Parties/Events (to help get started on the right paw more quickly and more efficiently). The cost of the New Puppy on the Block Kit will not change.

Pet Consultant of the Month: Kari H. (#701)
Kari H. (#701 Vernon, CT) states, "First of all I would like to say how truly honored I am to be recognized as 'Pet Consultant of the Month' by 'The Pound'. My husband, Bob, and I have a wonderful family together with our two loving pooches. Kylie Jaiden Olivia is a 1 1/2 year old 30 lb. black and tan pit bull mix, and George is a 3 year old 54 lb. tan and white purebred pit bull. They give us a lot of laughs as well as joy. Kylie came to us as an 8 week old through our vet after I lost my Sydney Danielle (Pit Bull, Lab mix) after 14 1/2 years; George is a blessing we adopted about 2 months ago. She is a spoiled princess...and him? He's just a big hugging love muffin who loves to hug and kiss! They are two of the sweetest dogs to be in the company of. We affectionately refer to them as the "Poochanini's" and when we call them together it's "come here kids." We need to make sure we get to bed before them or else it's good luck to us finding our areas if they have it first. It can get quite comical!"
"I absolutely LOVE the Shure Pets products I sell! I love the fact that the products are not tested on animals! Our 'kids' are very lucky to have Mom as a Pet Consultant because they get to check our products out earlier than most. For instance, I tested out the Treatstik (#234) on George when he first moved in and he hasn't broken it yet and it's been two months! The Paramount Aromutt Therapy Spritzers are great! We especially like the Ocean Breeze (#107) for Kylie and the Stud (#120) for George. The scent lasts and lasts! Kylie and George are young and lucky enough to not need regular meds right now so my husband and I actually use the Bone Pill Reminder (#204) for ourselves and a friend and customer of mine "Melissa" strongly recommends the Paramount Boo Boo Bandage (#128). "I initially heard about Shure Pets through my friend Sarah who saw a story on CBS's Early Show and after talking with her, I saw a feature article in the Hartford Courant. I'm a big believer in fate and decided it was time for me to follow my dream to work with animals in some way."
"I received my 'New Puppy on the Block Starter Kit' on 8-23-05 and made my money back with my first party. I did get a slow start, however, due to hurricane Katrina. While I'm not from that region, at the time I couldn't think about anything but the devastation and what I might be able to do to help. I made my donations (both monetarily to Best Friends Animal Society, The Red Cross and The Salvation Army as well as sending non-perishables to a friend of mine whom I lost touch with and recently found who was affected by the devastation of Katrina). My first party finally took place in December and I haven't looked back since. I truly need to acknowledge Kris Fletcher and all the wonderful people, foster parents and pooches at The Fidelco Guide dog Foundation in Bloomfield, CT. "My Shure Pets future? The sky is the limit! My Shure Pets business is what I do full time and I can't think of anything I'd rather do. Organizations are calling me now to do shows. To anyone out there who is thinking about becoming a Pet Consultant, my message is simple: Combine your love of animals and the time you get to spend with your own as well as others with the fact that 'your business' is all you put into it and want it to be. Right now I'm so close to the end of 'spending money to make money' I can taste it! I have my demo, samples, tables, canopy, etc. and I keep up with the catalogs so I have them ready for anyone who wants one. This way all the information I need is organized, at my finger tips and it will be easier to put together for tax season."

She and her husband have fenced in nearly 20 acres of land and have a personal park where owners can bring their pets to run and play! Purr-fect Pet Health Tips
Hot (spot) Dog: Hot Spots are typically localized areas of inflamed and/or moist skin. They can develop via flea bite irritation, allergies or interaction with irritating substances (such as chemicals/harsh soaps). These spots are extremely itchy, causing the dog to constantly lick and scratch, resulting in worsening or the spot. The most important step in treatment of hot spots is to immediately stop your dog from further licking and chewing of the spot. Shure Pet's Medicated Shampoo (#101) and Medicated Spray (#102) have been formulated to combat and treat hot spots once they have occurred.
Pretty Kitty: Regular grooming sessions with a brush will help keep your feline's hair in purr-fect condition by removing dirt, spreading natural oils throughout her coat, preventing tangles/mats and keeping her skin clean and irritant-free. If your cat has short hair, you only need to brush once a week. If your cat has long hair, you will need to brush daily. When brushing, work through her fur from head to tail. Be "shure" to be gentle near her chest and belly. To brush a cat's tail, make a part down the middle and brush the fur out on either side.
A Horse of Course: Please be aware that horses can be easily frightened by sudden movements or loud noises, especially those outside of the animal's field of binocular vision. These may trigger fear reactions such as spinning or kicking and you may get trampled on as a result. For this reason, avoid approaching horses from the rear or side. Move toward the horse's head, giving the animal a chance to see you first. Announce your presence and put a hand on the horse's neck or shoulder so he knows where you are. Additionally, offer your hand for the horse to smell. Never run up to a horse, throw things toward a horse, or move in a quick or unpredictable manner.
