    Dear Pet Lover~ As the holiday season approaches, it brings an opportunity to reflect on the past year and recognize what we have to be thankful for. The Shure Pets team would like to take this opportunity to thank everyone who has been a part of Shure Pets during the last year. This has been an exciting year for us and we are thrilled with the growth we have experienced. We are receiving a great deal of positive feedback from our Pet Consultants, their customers, and the media too, specifically, in a Wall Street Journal article that featured Shure Pets. We look forward to our continued growth.

    As we move past Thanksgiving and into December, we remind you that we are fully stocked with all Shure Pets products to meet your holiday shopping needs. To guarantee product delivery in time for Christmas, we ask that Pet Consultants place their orders by December 14. However, as always, we are here to help you and to make doing business with Shure Pets easy, so keep those orders coming and if you're not sure when a shipment might arrive, give us a call. We will do everything that we can to ensure you and your cusomters get your products on time.

    Finally, a couple thoughts on how to continue to network and grow your Shure Pets business during the holiday season. From Thanksgiving to New Year's Eve, there will be many networking opportunities. Be sure to tuck your Shure Pets Cat-alog and business cards into your bag wherever you go. Since Shure Pets Pet Consultants are not restricted by territories or states, take your business information with you when you travel. You never know where your next customer or recruit might be...maybe it will be a guest at your family's Thanksgiving dinner, or a spouse's co-worker at a holiday party. We encourage you to be pro-active in your business through this season of social occasions. And, be "shure" to let us know when you have a Pet Party scheduled.

    Pet Consultant Tracey F. (#0303 Waterloo, IN) recently met with the Shure Pets staff in the Corporate Office to discuss her growing Shure Pets business, ask some questions, and sample and purchase new products. If you cannot make a Shure Pets University session but are in the Chicago area and would like to meet the Shure Pets Corporate team, please call and schedule an appointment to meet with us. We enjoy meeting each and every one of our Pet Consultants, hearing your opinions and suggestions, and helping you succeed.

    Please mark your calendars now for the next Shure Pets University (SPU) Program. The next SPU will be held on Tuesday, December 7 at 2:00 p.m. at the Shure Pets Corporate Office, located at 1556 N. LaSalle St., Chicago, IL. Following each two-hour training session is Shure Pets' monthly "Meet and Greet" event, which is open to prospective Pet Consultants. The "Meet and Greet" session begins at 4:00 p.m. Advance reservations are required for Shure Pets University (so we can plan accordingly), and can be made by calling 1.888.SHURE.PETS; or emailing SPU@shurepets.com. We hope to see you soon and are looking forward to the continued growth of Shure Pets University.

    Featured Pet Consultant: Beverly Ford (#0104)

    By day, Beverly Ford (#0104 Claymont, DE) is a government affairs coordinator. Her real passion, however, is animal welfare, and she has spent the last 15 years working as an advocate in this field. Beverly rescues these four-legged friends' shattered spirits and broken hearts, and helps them find their way into loving and forever homes.

    Beverly joined the Shure Pets team about six months ago, when she read an article about the company in USA Weekend. "I immediately phoned the TOLL FREE number and left a message, telling the company they needed to call me back...that I was going to sell a whole lot of products. I've been Shure Pets partying and promoting ever since."

    Beverly has already recruited three Pet Consultants to her team, and is grateful for their drive and determination. "Delaware might be small state, but we plan on delivering some BIG numbers. You're going to see Delaware consistently in the Top Ten rankings!"

    What Beverly likes best about being a Shure Pets Pet Consultant is the opportunity to spend time with people who think about animals the way she does -- as a "bone-a-fide" member of the family. "When I walk into a room to do a Shure Pets demo, I know that I am surrounded by people who want the very best for their very best friends. There is no abuse, no neglect, no cruelty... all things I see far too often in my rescue work. Instead, I am greeted by laughter and fun and people who can't wait to share stories about these gentle creatures who so enrich our everyday lives."

    Beverly is guardian to a houseful of rescues: Cocker Spaniel mix brothers (Jackson and Marley Brown Shoes), four cats (Madame Butterfly, Senor Mew Mew Monkeyface, Cuddles Kitty and Senorita Cha Cha Kitty), a Cockatiel (Baby) and last but not least, a foster kitty (Spanky Doodle Booger) looking for his forever home.

    Tips for Purr-fect Pet Health

    While Thanksgiving is a time to reflect and be thankful for all that you have, your pets will thank you for knowing these important safety tips and hints:

    Do not give your pets any leftover bones from the holiday meals you are preparing. Cooked bones tend to splinter and can be dangerous to pets. If you serve Thanksgiving turkey, make "shure" you tie up the carcass in a plastic bag and immediately discard it in a garbage can outside. Next, place a heavy item on top of the garbage can so stray animals will not be able to get into it.

    Caution guests, both adults and kids, not to feed your pets anything except their normal treats. Guests are not always aware of the dangers associated with your pet's meals.

    Ham, and other meats, may come pre- packaged with string wrapped around them. When you remove the string, tie it up in a plastic bag and dispose of it outside in the trash can immediately. Pets may swallow the tasty packaging, which can be disastrous.

    Increased activity and guests at home during the holidays can upset your pet's daily routine. Try to keep your pets on their normal schedule for feeding and exercise.

    Give your pets plenty of love and attention during the holidays so they don't feel left out with all the commotion and changes in their regime.
