    Shure Pets Pet Gazette
    Volume II Edition XII
    December 2004

Dear Pet Lover~ I am pleased to announce that Shure Pets has been accepted in to the Direct Selling Association (DSA). The process for review and acceptance into this national trade association is extensive and thorough. It has taken more than a year to complete the process and receive our official membership.

The Association's mission is "To protect, serve and promote the effectiveness of member companies and the independent business people they represent. To ensure that the marketing by member companies of products and/or the direct sales opportunity is conducted with the highest level of business ethics and service to consumers." With this as their mission, we are proud to be a member of the DSA and know that this stamp of approval will assist in validating our business model and in helping all of us to reach our goals.

Now that we are in the first full week of December, and the holiday season is in full swing, I want to remind you that we still have one week to process orders to ensure Christmas deliveries. Please be "shure" to inform your customers of the December 14 deadline for placing orders. I recommend you take a few minutes out of your day to email your friends and family your Pet Consultant ID number so they can place their orders online.

The Thanksgiving weekend resulted in our best weekend of sales, ever. This week we have reached all new sales records. Thank you for your continued support and business. We wish you, your families, and your pets a very happy and healthy Howl-iday Season and Happy New Year.

As always, if you would like more in-fur-mation on Shure Pets, hosting or attending a Pet Party or purchasing Shure Pets Products, please contact us at info@shurepets.com or call toll free at 1-888-SHURE- PETS (1-888-748-7373). Thank you from the bottom of our paws,

Shure Pets in the L.A. Daily News

Featured Pet Consultant: Sandra T. (#0148)

In early 2004, at the same time she was job-hunting for a high tech position, Sandy T. (#0148 Seabrook, NH) began thinking she might enjoy having an additional business on the side. At that time, she began researching and learning about direct sales companies. In May 2004, she read the USA Weekend article about Shure Pets, and thought, this opportunity might be purr-fect for her. Sandy states, "I read as much as I could about Shure Pets and was pleased that I had found a legitimate company with attractive, quality products. As a life-long pet lover, I thought it would be fun be to spoil pets and get paid for it."

Sandy has three cats: a black cat (Tarzan) who has been with her for 14 years, her brother's adorable fluffy Birman kitten (Bueller) and her granddaughter's feisty Maine Coon kitten (Skittles).

Sandy says "Being in a business where you can help people and the pets they love is a wonderful thing. In the six months I've been doing Shure Pets, I've met many great people and pets at fundraisers, expos, parties and community events. I'm not by nature, a 'sales-type' person, and I am happy that having the connection with other pet lovers makes sharing the products and the business opportunity come naturally."

Originally, Sandy did not have big plans to recruit new Pet Consultants to her team, but since she easily recruited four great people in six months, she intends to continue expanding her team. Explaining about her Shure Pets recruits, "We have a wonderful team and enjoy learning from each other, sharing our challenges and successes during our periodic conference calls. If you haven't recruited someone to your team yet, I highly recommend you do." Sandy and her team have even named themselves "Best Of Show." We love their enthusiasm and are thrilled with their dedication to Shure Pets. Sandy, keep up the grrr-eat work distributing Shure Pets products and growing your team!

Shure Pets Receives Barks of Approval

"I have to tell you of my OctoPal (#502) experience....I ordered a rainbow of them. When they came in, I opened the box and made sure all my items were present, then closed it back up. I left the box on the floor and went to work. When I got home, I walked into what seemed like OctoPals everywhere. The cats smelled them and literally clawed open the box and took them out and proceeded to have an OctoPal party. Christmas came early for my "little darlings." OctoPals definitely got the paws of approval from my cats." Lynda A. (#0049 Glouster, OH).

"I am having so...much fun doing Shure Pets. Keep barking and howling...Shure Pets!" Sharen S. (#0048 Fortville, IN).

"I was extremely excited about my "New Puppy on the Block Kit!" It arrived so fast. The products are wonderful and smell so good. Starry (my cat) and I love the Three Bathed Mice (#208). I also really like the ingredients in the dog treats." Kelly L. (#0326 Baltimore, MD).

    Tips for Purr-fect Pet Health

Cats and Kittens will often play with anything that resembles string. This includes ribbons (often used for holiday wrapping) tinsel, and strings of popcorn. When eaten, these items can become stuck and lodged in your cat's stomach. Be careful where you leave your wrapping remains and call your local veterinarian if these items are accidentally swallowed.

A wide variety of decorative plants that may enhance the festiveness of your home during the holiday season can be harmful to your pet's health. Poinsettias, Mistletoe, Holly and Amaryllis are poisonous to pets and need to be placed in areas that are not accessible to your companion animals.

Cats may be under the impression that the Christmas tree is their own personal playground. Make "shure" that your tree is firmly placed in a wide-based stand to prevent it from falling. Also, keep your tree's water covered, as it may contain chemicals or dirt that, if consumed, could be harmful to your pet.

When lighting your hoilday candles be certain that they are kept away from your pets. Animals can become fascinated with the flame and accidentally burn themselves. Also, be aware that the fumes from scented candles can be harmful to your bird!
