    Volume II Edition VII
    July 2004

    Dear Pet Lover~

Shure Pets promises to maintain a proactive and determined approach as the demand for our products and the business opportunities continue to grow. The increase in activity can be attributed to numerous factors including our dynamic business model, our new Cat-alog, the formation of Pet Consultant teams and the contunied hard work and determination of our Pet Consultants.

Shure Pets is fast approaching 250 Pet Consultants in 42 states throughout the country! Pet Consultants, to increase your sales volume and grow your teams, try doubling your current efforts... If you currently have one Pet Party a week, try scheduling two. If you currently talk to two people a week regarding the Shure Pets Business opportunity, try discussing it with four people. With increased efforts, you will see an impact on your business. Keep your tails wagging!

Thank you from the bottom of our paws,

    Andrew Shure, Shure Pets, Founder

Be sure to hold the dates for the next sessions: Tuesday, August 3, 2004, at 2 p.m.; and Tuesday, September 7, 2004, at 2 p.m. Shure Pets Unversity is held at the Shure Pets Corporate Office, located at 1556 N. LaSalle, Chicago, IL. Next month's Shure Pets University will focus on promoting your Shure Pets business; recruiting tips for building your team; and discussion of the new products. Following each two-hour training session is Shure Pets' monthly "Meet and Greet" event, which is open to prospective Pet Consultants. The "Meet and Greet" sessions begin at 4 p.m. Advance reservations are required for Shure Pets University (so we can plan accordingly), which can be made by calling 1.888.SHURE.PETS; or emailing SPU@shurepets.com.

Featured Pet Consultant: Barbara Franz (#0142)

Barbara Franz has been a Shure Pets Consultant since May 2004. Barbara lives with her husband and daughter in Aurora, Colorado. They have a Belgian Malinois and a Maltese. She discovered Shure Pets from her sister, who read the recent USA Weekend feature on Shure Pets.

Barbara had been looking for a career change -- she wanted to find something that she loved, and she needed to make her own hours. Doing something that involved her dogs was a dream come true. Barbara is married to a professional dog trainer and behaviorist, and dogs are a major part of their lives. They have an eleven year-old daughter, who also loves the family pets.

Barbara believes that Shure Pets has developed an awesome line of products both for animals and their owners. When she received her "New Puppy on the Block Kit" she was most impressed with the quality of the products. She really likes the Aromutt Therapy Spritzers, and thinks the Shampoos make her dogs' coats so soft and shiny that they can't help but feel loved. She also found the Paramount Ear Solution works like a dream on her Maltese's ears. "My husband loves being able to give his clients an opportunity to buy their pets great products that have been researched and approved, and on which he puts his own stamp of approval." The couple also loves the Paramount Stain and Odor Control. "It works great on many surfaces and has applications other than just pet stain removal. I have found that some people who don't even own a pet love this product."

Barbara hosted her first Shure Pets Pet Party in Grand Junction, Colorado. It was a huge success and the products sold themselves. According to Barbara, "I'm grateful to be a Pet Consultant for a company that is committed to making high quality pet products. I'm hopeful that I can show other pet lovers that they can have the same opportunities in a career that they will love as much as they love their pets. That's what I call 'Success!'"

Shure Pets Receives Barks of Approval

"The changes [Shure Pets] has already made based on our needs and input is amazing, really. A flexible corporate office that listens and acts? I say we've signed up with the right company." Janice C. #0131 (Mount Washington, KY)

"I just used the Flea and Tick Shampoo on one of my dogs last night and I'm very impressed with how soft he now feels and how good he smells. I also used the Purr-fect Pet Towel to dry him off-- wonderfully fast. I think the pet towel is fast becoming my favorite item!" Lynda A. #0049 (Glouster, OH)

"I love the Stain and Odor remover. It works great on removing blood, iodine and even those mysterious stains that you no longer know where they came from. I have sold this product to non pet owners and they love it as well. I am on my fourth bottle and it's almost empty! The candles work great and last a long time." Joanne S. #0003 (Clinton Twp., MI)

"My mother has a Jack Russell Terrier that has a bad grass allergy. I gave her the Medicated Lotion to try. She called me the very next day and said it was the best product she has ever used. The little dog slept all night for the first time in weeks." Marsha S. #0209 (Utica, OH)

"I called in an order for some new products today. I have to say, the staff there is great and so helpful. They are wonderful. They answered questions I had and were very pleasant about it all. I have to tell you, being a retired Police Officer, what a change it is to deal with happy people!" Pam S. #0080 (Youngstown, OH)

"Not only has the Cat-alog grown by leaps and bounds, I must also note that the map in the office has exploded with push pins [representing the Pet Consultants from each state]! When I first saw the map there was one pin representing one Pet Consultant, while now there are over two hundred and fifty pins covering almost all the states. WOW! Also, so you know, the corporate office has picked up with activity with all of the new consultants we are recruiting. They are dedicated to making this a successful operation and have invested more than we can thank them for." David G. #0002 (Chicago, IL)

Shure Pets Products of the Month

Since the introduction of our new Cat-alog we have over 100 exciting items in our line. We have selected three wonder-fur items to be this month's "Products of the Month!"

Paramount Tick and Flea Free Shampoo (#113) This formula is combined with a detergent-free surfactant blend to form the best defense against unpleasant ticks and fleas. This shampoo is a mild yet effective product that quickly and efficiently kills fleas and ticks on all canines and felines.

Q: How would I know if my pet got bit by a tick?

A: Some symptoms to look for are fever, lameness, loss of appetite, sudden onset of pain in their legs or body, arthritis or swelling in your pet's joints, lethargy, depression or a cough. If these symptoms persist, call your vet.

Paramount Tangle and Mat Combat (#115) Is your pet having a bad hair day? Have no fear because Paramount Tangle and Mat Combat helps control messy pet hair. This product removes loose hair, mats and tangles. When applied, the formula reduces brushing time in half, revives dull, dry coats, and helps to repair spilt ends while moisturizing your pet's skin.

Q: What are some reasons to brush my pet regularly?

A: Brushing your dog or cat goes a long way towards keeping his coat clean. Often your pet may enjoy the brushing itself, the close contact and the extra attention. Brushing also removes the extra hairs (if you brush often enough, it will eliminate the loose hair and reduce shedding). Brushing makes his coat look very nice, adding sheen. While brushing your dog or cat's coat, it will give you a good opportunity to do a quick check for any problems (cuts, mange, hot spots, fleas, etc.).

Caillou's Bone Treats (#205) These bone treats are all natural and made with the finest human-grade ingredients. They don't contain any added salt, sugar or artificial preservatives. Treats come in 12 oz. bags in delicious flavors such as Vanilla Bean, Carob Chip and Peanut Butter.

Q: Can treats be used to train my dog to sit?

A: There are many different ways to train your dog to sit. One effective way is by giving him rewards, such as a treat, every time he completes the behavior you are training him to do. If these treats are too big for your dog, simply break it in half to make a smaller size treat. This will also help your treats to last longer during the training process. Good luck!

    Tips for Purr-fect Pet Health
Protect your Pet From Back Yard Disasters

In addition to children playing outside more often in the summer months, our pets play outside more as well. There are many precautions that should be taken by every pet owner before letting his pet play outside. The following are some tips and facts that will help keep your pet safe in your own back yard!

Puppy-proof your shed or garage Walk through your shed or garage before letting your dog roam unattended. Check for exposed electrical wires and stored poisonous chemicals. Also pick up any small objects (such as cans, screws or nails) that the dog could chew, choke on or swallow.

Be aware of what's on your lawn If your yard has been treated with pesticides or fertilizers, follow the manufacturer's instructions for keeping your dog out of the area afterwards. If possible, remove any poisonous plants in your yard. If you cannot remove it, surround it with chicken wire to prevent a dog from trying to nibble on it. Also look at the surface of your yard. Pea gravel is safe, but many puppies chew or try to eat larger rocks or can hurt themselves by chewing on sticks. The seeds of tall native grasses can become stuck inside a dog's delicate ears. Remove or cut back anything that might harm your pet.

Watch out for wildlife In the Southwest, coyotes often kill dogs or cats that are left outside at night. In other parts of the country, dogs and cats are threatened by raccoons. Raccoons are fierce fighters who can seriously injure or kill your pet, as well potentially infect them with distemper or rabies. To avoid raccoons, don't leave pet food, bird seed or garbage out where raccoons can get it.

Let your cat outside too Many household cats are not allowed outside like their canine companions, but you can take your cats for walks as well. Any cat can be trained to a harness and leash, using a gradual method of training. Many cats will initially feel confined by the additional weight of the harness, and their first attempts at walking on a leash will appear to be more of the "slinking" or "belly- crawling" variety. However, given time and patience on the part of the trainer, most cats will enjoy leash walking.
