Dear Passionate Pet Lover~
March is here and the first day of Spring is almost upon us. With the change in weather, comes the opportunity to spend more time outside with your pets! Which means, if you haven’t already had your dog or cat spayed or neutered, March is the time to do it. In fact, March is National Spay and Neuter Awareness Month. According to The Human Society of the United States, some important facts regarding spaying and neutering include: 1) spaying and neutering helps dogs and cats live longer, healthier lives; 2) spaying and neutering can eliminate or reduce the incidence of health problems that can be difficult or expensive to treat; 3) spaying and neutering makes pets better, more affectionate companions; 4) neutered cats are less likely to spray and mark territory; 5) animal shelters are overburdened
with surplus animals, which spaying and neutering can help prevent. The low one-time cost to spay or neuter your pet is a

small price to pay for the health of your pet and the prevention of unwanted animals.Shure Pets is pleased to announce that we now have Pet Consultants in 26 states with many of them beginning to build their down lines. The excitement is growing both here in the Corporate Office and among our Consultants. There’s even a little healthy competition among Pet Consultants vying to reach the Top-Dog consultant level. We are thrilled with their enthusiasm and look forward to working together to help each Pet Consultant reach his or her goals.

With all this excitement and growth that Shure Pets is experiencing, we are proud to introduce Shure Pets University to provide our Pet Consultants with additional support to meet their needs. Starting Tuesday, April 6, 2004, at 2:00 p.m. and continuing on the first Tuesday of every month, thereafter, Shure Pets will offer educational and informational training sessions at the Corporate Office. Pet Consultants can learn more about the Shure Pets product line, upcoming marketing campaigns and the finer points of the business, such as recruiting and building their Shure Pets team. Following each two-hour training session, we will be hosting monthly meet and greet sessions for individuals interested in learning more about becoming a Pet Consultant. These meet and greet sessions will begin at 4:00 p.m. on the first Tuesday of each month.

As Shure Pets grows daily, we continuously review and revise many of the materials and processes our Pet Consultants use to do business. In the upcoming months, look for information on easier and more efficient ordering methods, new products and a new Cat-alog. Keep your tails wagging and sending us your input. We depend on your feedback!

Thank you from the bottom of our paws.
Sincerely, Andrew Shure, founder

On Tuesday evening, February 10, 2004, Shure Pets hosted an exciting Valentine’s themed Pet Party at the Corporate Office in Chicago, Illinois. Local pet lovers and those interested in the Shure Pets Business Opportunity attended the event. A pet-focused dialog was immediately established between all guests while their dogs socialized. As a result of the Party, Kim Salemi (Chicago, IL) signed up to become a Pet Consultant and began her new business. All guests at the party learned about the unique Shure Pets Business Opportunity, met with the Shure Pets staff and searched for the purr-fect Valentine's Day gifts for their loved, four-legged, loyal companions. Featured on the left are wild party animals Amy and Moo-shoo the Shar Pei. Willard, a Golden Retriever shown at right, enjoyed himself at the Pet Party. The Shure Pets party had a great turnout and the Shure Pets team looks forward to the next Pet Party at the Corporate Office, and hopefully we’ll see you there.

A Chicago native, David Glossberg (#0002), is a direct sales and network marketing expert, who recently added Independent Pet Consultant for Shure Pets to his resume. Glossberg has spent his entire career learning and perfecting his skills as an efficient and effective direct seller and marketer. He is also accustomed to having a pet to care for and truly understands their needs.

After graduating from the University of Colorado at Boulder, with a BA in French, Glossberg’s step-father recommended Glossberg pursue sales opportunities because of the income opportunities that exist, especially for motivated and successful sales people. Armed with his French degree that taught him to have an appreciation for people, society and language, Glossberg poured himself into learning the industry, understanding the importance of networking, and fine-tuning his craft.

Glossberg’s direct selling expertise stems from his position as an independent distributor for Equinox International Corporation, selling health and environmental products; and subsequent positions assisting companies in training sales staff and learning to sell printing services. Glossberg connected with Shure Pets founder, Andrew Shure, through networking, reinforcing the opportunities that exist just by talking with people that you already know.

Shure Pets appeals to Glossberg because he is motivated and challenged by the concept of developing his own national distribution network of sales people. “The products are great, and Shure Pets has put together a direct selling program that supports its Pet Consultants and puts the earning potential in our hands,” said Glossberg. Glossberg resides in Chicago’s East Pilsen neighborhood, with his cats Annabelle (see picture) and Cupcake.

Paramount Aromutt Therapy Spritz (#105- #108) is available in 4 odor-iffic scents: Furry Floral, Vivid Vanilla, Ocean Breeze and Merry Cherry. This product can be used on dogs, cats, rabbits and ferrets. Aromutt Therapy Spritzers soothe and relax scared and hyperactive pets. Just like humans, animals are affected by scents and can benefit from the healing properties of botanicals. it has been proven that flowers, leaves, seeds and plant substances have medicinal and psychological effects on the animal body. Shure Pets’ Paramount Aromutt Therapy Spritzes are environmentally safe and biodegradable. Use this product when a pet smells foul after beaches, parks, or the rain, as it deodorizes the coat with a pleasant fragrance. Choose from the four scents listed above. This product also contains a beneficial coat conditioner.

Q: Isn’t aromatherapy hazardous to cats’ heath?

A: Normally yes. Aromatherapy is the therapeutic use of essential oils.
and cats cannot tolerate or metabolize essential oils. Their use can lead to symptoms of toxicity or even death. With this in mind, Shure Pets specifically formulated its Aromutt Therapy Spritzers without these specific essential oils so that the product is safe to use on cats (as well as dogs, rabbits and ferrets).

Q: Is it hard to calculate the right number of sprays to cover up the bad pet stench in my house or on my pet?

A: Since each pet is different and unique, dosage experimentation may be necessary. There is no maximum dosage restriction. So feel free to add extra spritzes.

The Catnapper (#807) hammock bed has been created to conveniently mount on most window sills. It comes with removable, washable faux fleece cover and has been rigorously tested and researched to hold up to 35 lbs. (for larger sized kitties). Makes a great gift for all cats.

Q: Why do cats like to sleep in the sun?

A: Cats like to feel warm, comfortable and secure before they go to sleep. They also use the sunlight to combat the slight drop in temperature that occurs once they fall asleep. Some cats actually change their sleep position to follow the movement of the sun.

1. Shedding Cats: Nondomesticated cats, or cats that live in the wild, tend to shed only in the spring. However, because domestic house cats are kept in artificially lit and heated conditions, they shed all year round. As a result, cats need regular grooming. Longer haired felines will get tangled and matted coats if not groomed regularly. Cats also shed excessively if they are upset or under intense stress. Therefore, cats may tend to lose a lot of hair while you are grooming them if they do not enjoy the activity.
2. Bird Toys: Look into using dried out bagels as bird toys either strung as a cage toy or as a hand toy. For smaller sized birds, dried mini bagels would work better. Remember, do not string any toy with a double strand of chain, rope or string as the bird might accidentally get entangled or strangle itself when it twists around. Inspect your bird's toys every day. Get in the routine of doing this when you change the bird’s food and water dishes. Birds can easily get tangled in the loose pieces of any toy (hand crafted or manufactured) and checking on the toys daily can help reduce the chance for injury or chance of fatality. If you discover a toy in need of daily repair, move the toy out of the cage and onto a surface where you can supervise your bird at play. Supervision is highly recommended when introducing a new toy to your bird.
3. Dog Skin Care: Hot spots are localized areas of acute, moist and inflamed skin which are usually caused by flea bite irritation, allergies or direct contact with an irritating substance such as chemicals or harsh soaps. Because these spots are extremely itchy, the dog will constantly lick and scratch itself, making the spot worse. The most important step in treating hot spots is to prevent your dog from licking and chewing of the spot. A skin relief product such as Shure Pets Paramount Medicated Lotion will aid in reducing and stopping the itching and pain. Moderate to severe hot spots, as well as recurring hot spots, require veterinary attention.
